Utterly scrumptious. El-Mohtar has a gorgeous turn of phrase & this book is really a treasure. A dark fairy-tale that is simultaneously classic and fresh, an exploration of language and storytelling & an ode to the unbreakable bond between sisters. This book made me exclaim "BITCH!" out loud, and I devoured every last crumb of it.
